The video analyzes two works of art in Rotterdam's public space and relates them to each other. The first work of art is a facade design on a luxury hotel. The hotel facade opens up connections to the US bank Goldman Sachs, the subprime crisis and Greece's debt. The second art project — a so-called “orphanage for sculptures” — is located under a highway flyover on the edge of the city. It is a place intended to house discarded works of art.
A COLLECTION OF DOTS assembles photographic and film footage, 3D animations, and a video lecture, relating the two locations mentioned above. A reflexive level is created that humorously moves between didacticism and nonsense, proposing a beautification plan for the ‘orphanage’ under the bridge.
